In 2008 Peter Osborne followed the trail of Lewis and Clark and their amazing journey of discovery from Washington, D.C. to the Pacific Ocean and back. Along the way he took hundreds of pictures of expedition landmarks and the landscape. Some of those images are now emblazoned on items that we sell. From 1999- 2006 Peter Osborne wrote four books on the Civilian Conservation Corps, FDR's most popular New Deal agency that built, restored and refurbished thousands of parks and forests across the country. The legacy of the CCC remains today across the land in the form of lakes, roads, parks, woodlands, buildings, picnic and camping areas. The four books sold here remind of us of that wonderful legacy that continues to benefit Americans after seventy years. Hacklebarney and Voorhees State Parks (NJ) (Images of America) This book tells the history of two state parks in central New Jersey that were essentially built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

Promised Land State Park (PA) (Images of America)
This book tells the history of one of the earliest state parks that is located in eastern Pennsylvania, much of which was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

High Point State Park and the Civilian Conservation Corps (NJ) (Images of America)
This book tells the history of one of the most historic state parks in New Jersey and also the location of the High Point State Monument, the highest elevation in the state. Much of the park's infrastructure was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

We Can Take It!: The Roosevelt Tree Army at New Jersey's High Point State Park 1933-1941
This book tells the story of a typical CCC camp and how they were operated from 1933-1941. The book includes interviews with CCC boys, a lengthy bibliography and a partial listing of men who served at High Point State Park. The two companies that were stationed there built much of the park's current infrastructure.

Perseverance and Vigilance is the first full-length history ever written about the Fort Decker Museum of History in Port Jervis, New York. Peter Osborne had been collecting information on the building for many years and then compiled the data for this book which was published in 2007. If you loved the newspaper columns of Erma Bombeck and Jim Bishop, Janis Osborne’s book, “Put The Dog On The Phone,” a collection of her favorite newspaper columns written over 20 years, is a must read.
